You and Your Tattoo
This is my tattoo. My one and only that I didn't get until last year at age 44. I had wanted a tattoo for over 20 years and wanted this particular tattoo for more than 10 years. I call it my identity tattoo.
This design started to take form after my brother, Kale, was killed in a car accident. I wanted a cross with his initials. The cross was important because during that time of grief, my Christian faith was all I could hold onto to get me through.
The problem was that I am the oldest of six siblings and I love all of my siblings so to single one out, even though we miss him terribly, didn't seem quite right. The initials along the vertical part of the cross represent the six siblings.
I also wanted my children to be represented on my cross. I have a daughter and son, so they are represented by the pink and blue roses. I wanted their stems to wrap around the cross to represent my desire that they always stay close to Christ.
Of course you can't forget the husband. So the two initials on the horizontal part of the cross represent my husband and me.
And that is my identity tattoo!
